Guys and Dolls in Concert

Sun, May 14, 2017, 2:00 pm
Friday & Saturday Performances at 8:00pm; Sundays at 2:00pm

“Guys and Dolls is gangsters, gamblers, dames and more. This acclaimed musical is joy in its purest form,” says John DeGaetano, artistic director for LBC’s resident theatre company.

Performed in-concert with a live orchestra, this beloved American musical transports the audience back in time to Depression-era New York City… with a side trip to Havana. You’re up close in the action as we follow the romantic and criminal exploits of shady New York gamblers Sky Masterson, Nathan Detroit and the women who love them: Adelaide, who’s been waiting for a marriage proposal for over a decade, and Sarah, an uptight missionary out to save Sky’s soul. Frank Loesser’s musical masterpiece brings to life the stories and characters of Damon Runyon with terrific numbers like “If I Were a Bell,” “Adelaide’s Lament,” “Luck Be a Lady” and “Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat.”
The cast, currently in rehearsal includes; Audie Foote, Brianna McGuire, Cindy Brillhart-True, David Strock, Gary Sciford, Jack McEnhill, Jeffrey Schmidt, John Cassidy, Johnny DeBernard, Judith Sciford, JuliAnna Leonardo, Larry Scharf, Maureen O’Neill, Paul Johnson, Paul Mackinnon, Roxanne Alcalde, Sarah Foster, Susan Markcity, Tim Shippey, and William Stone. Directed by John DeGaetano, musical director Les Pfutzenreuter, and stage manger Kristen Hone. Music and Lyrics by Frank Loesser book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows.
DeGaetano said, “North Bay Stage Company’s mounting the production is a sure bet the audience will be entertained in this non-stop musical comedy. And… its no surprise Time Magazine pronounced Guys and Dolls as the greatest of all American musicals.”
