Sturgeon's Mill Historic Steam Sawmill Demonstration Runs

Sun, June 18, 2017, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
SAT & SUN

At Sturgeon’s Mill, you can bask in the rich resonance of more than 100 years of California history. Imagine the mighty redwoods that passed through this once-bustling facility, creating the timber that built a great state. Close your eyes, and you can almost hear the voices of the workmen as they labored and laughed together.
Members of the restoration project will activate and run the mill to demonstrate its workings. There will be tours given by Docents who will give you a history of the mill and answer questions. It is a wonderful opportunity to experience the mill as it was in its hey-day.

If you take pictures, the best time to record the steam engines is in the morning when the temperature is lowest to show off the steam.
There is no cost to you but donations are gratefully accepted.

See guidelines on website about what to wear and what not to bring.

These demonstration runs are held on the Saturdays and Sundays of May 6-7th, June 17-18th, September 16-17th and October 14-15th.
