A winetasting road trip to salute the final days as a bachelor careens woefully sideways as two friends hit the gas en route to mid-life crises. The comically mismatched pair, who share little more than their history and a heady blend of failed potential and fading youth, soon find themselves drowning in wine and women. Emerging from a haze of Pinot noir, wistful yearnings and trepidation about the future, the two inevitably collide with reality.
The 2004 film Sideways received the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, and was nominated for other awards, including Best Picture. What better place and time to showcase this iconic story than in Sonoma County, wine country during harvest and wedding season. This play is perfect for everyone, from the oenophile to the person who simply prefers “a white” or “a red.”
OPENING WEEKEND SPECIAL EVENT: Opening weekend features a special appearance by playwright and author, Rex Pickett, who will be leading a wine tasting before the show and at intermission.
