Comedic singer/songwriter Lauren Mayer is the writer of The Sexual Harassment Prevention Song which just became a viral hit on Facebook (2 million views and counting), proving that even middle-aged Jewish mothers can become social media stars! Lauren began playing the piano at age 3 and discovered her penchant for writing silly songs shortly thereafter. After graduating from Yale University summa cum laude, Lauren spent 5 years in New York singing on street corners, writing songs, and thoroughly disappointing her parents. She then moved to San Francisco to meet straight men (cue rim shot), where she became a fixture in the cabaret scene, winning five consecutive Bay Area Cabaret Gold awards (and tens of fans). Despite all these impressive accomplishments, Lauren’s mother still doesn’t understand why she didn’t go to law school.
Lauren will be joined by our own beloved and beloopy Sandy and Richard Riccardi (35 million views on social media, for songs
including “The Boy From Mar-a-Lago”, “Tiki Torch Nazis” and “The Lonely Dotard”) for a fun-filled concert of lampoons, jabs and jibes on a host of topical subjects. With mostly their own original songs, and with an occasional borrowed tune to which the pair has written parodies ranging from puckish to cynical to contemptuous, listen and laugh as they take sharp aim at our favorite politicians and everything else that’s been keeping you up at night.
Open seating. Tickets held at Will Call and we recommend arriving when the doors open 30 minutes prior to curtain.
