As we once again enter election season, we are showing artist’s responses to social and political issues of importance to them, both past and present. Some of the works date back to the mid 19th century but remain frighteningly relevant today. Of course our contemporary artists offer fresh viewpoints on issues of today, as well as caricatures of some of the more questionable players.
The contemporary artists include Catherine Daley, Holly Downing, Molly Eckler, Karen Green, Art Hazelwood, Tyler James Hoare, Evri Kwong, Michael McMillan, Emmanuel Catarino Montoya, Johanna Poethig, and Jim Spitzer.
Historical artists include Honore Daumier, Francis deErdely, Oswaldo Guayasamin, Jean Halpert-Ryden, Jack Jones, Sutter Marin, Robert P. McChesney, Thomas Nast, and Irving Norman.
An opening reception will be held on Saturday, October 13th from 4-8pm. The exhibition will run October 13th – November 24th, 2018.
