Santa Rosa Symphony: Au Revoir, Bruno

Mon, May 7, 2018, 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Bruno Ferrandis’ farewell marks the US premiere of Czech composer Rataj’s Temporis, written in 2015, which features an Eastern European hammered dulcimer, a cymbalom, played by Czech artist Jan Mikusek. Bruno bids au revoir with a masterpiece brimming with 90 musicians. Mahler’s last complete score, written after his daughter’s death, is ultimately an affirming love song to life and mortality, fittingly enscribed, “O beauty! Love! Farewell! Farewell!”
