New mixed media sculpture by Chris Beards and works on paper by Bill Shelley, cofounders of Blasted Art Gallery. Beards’s sculptures explore the themes of loss, love, and remembrance. Shelley’s drawings feature highways as symbols of shared meaning and personal significance.
Beards and Shelley founded Blasted Art Gallery in 2017 to explore creativity and provide a venue for interesting and inventive Sonoma County art. This is the first time they are featuring their own work in the gallery. Please join them at the opening reception to celebrate!
Blasted Art Gallery will also be open for SOFA Arts District’s Artwalk, featuring 25 open artists’ studios, Saturday and Sunday, August 4-5, 11am-5pm. Regular gallery hours are Saturdays from 10am-1pm, and by appointment. Closing reception is SOFA Arts District’s First Friday, September 7, 5-8pm.
