Join us for a very special screening of Modified, a new award-winning documentary film that follows a personal and poignant mother-daughter journey into the world of the modification of genes. The screening takes place at Tara Firma Farm just outside Petaluma. Admission is a suggested donation of $10. Be sure to bring warm clothes as the screening will be in the barn. Pull right into the farm to park. No dogs please (unless very well-behaved and on a leash). The screening will be followed by a community discussion and Q & A with the filmmaker.
Modified follows the grassroots effort to label GMOs, including California’s 2012 attempt to become the first state to pass a GMO labeling law. Amidst a personal story that celebrates farming, cooking, and the love of food, the film ultimately exposes the cozy relationship between the agribusiness industry and our governments, making a strong case for a more sustainable and transparent food system.
