Artist Talk with maria de los Angeles

Sun, August 25, 2019, 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Join us for a gallery talk with Tierra de Rosas artist Maria de Los Angeles, as we take a deeper look at the works in the exhibition and learn more about the inspirations and stories behind her work. De Los Angeles is a multidisciplinary artist who addresses issues of migration, displacement, identity, and otherness through her drawing, painting, printmaking, and fashion. Tierra de Rosas is the first such exhibition of her work in her adopted hometown of Santa Rosa since leaving for New York and will feature original works made specifically for this exhibition, including works created in collaboration with local students. She holds an MFA in Painting & Printmaking from Yale School of Art (2015), a BFA in Painting from Pratt Institute (2013), and an Associate Degree in Fine Arts from Santa Rosa Junior College (2010).

Gallery talk is included with admission. No pre-registration is needed. Space is available on a first-come basis.
