Friday, March 15th, come to The Reel Fish Shop & Grill for a double-decker concert to set St. Paddy’s Weekend off proper! San Francisco’s own, Culann’s Hounds and Sonoma County’s Gentlemen Soldiers pair up for an evening of song and dance, Irish style!
Culann’s Hounds have been playing shows for almost two decades. Their steady rise has been a credit to their love of the music and ability to consistantly deliver hard driving quality shows with a strong dose of rebel attitude, humor, and a few drops of whiskey. 5 albums later they have multiple national and international tours under their belt in addition to headlining festivals and large music venues. Though the bands is in it’s third incarnation, founding members Steve Gardner and Mike Kelleher have performed virtually every show that band has ever played. The thread that has held the band together is the same one that has drawn the members back to their roots: love of traditional Irish music. Fiddle tunes, pipes, whistles, bodhrans, songs, fun.
Gentlemen Soldiers is a collection of Sonoma County musicians whose creative sound, has an energetic and poignant new take on traditional Irish music. Drawing inspiration from other genres folk, rock and punk genres, their sound is one of camaraderie. Their arrangements of songs will both taunt and cheer you in the way that only Irish folklore can. So stay for a pint or stay for a few more, raise your glass and shout a “Sláinte” with us!
