These are two separate events, both are FREE and celebrate the Japanese culture in Sonoma County.

Marking this year’s anniversary, the community is invited to Enmanji’s Teriyaki Bazaar Sunday, July 14, serving barbecued teriyaki chicken dinner plate (hot or cold) and other Japanese delicacies including made-to-order imagawa yaki a small stuffed pancake with a sweetened red bean filling and locally made desserts. During the barbecue & bazaar on Sunday July 14th, the day will be filled with cultural activities featuring an elaborate bonsai display presented by the Redwood Empire Bonsai Society, extensive outdoor plant sale, Ikebana flower arranging demonstration & sale, games for the kids, handicrafts & homemade jams, jellies and even delicious salted pickled plums. For entertainment for the adults– bingo & raffle drawing with a top prize of $1000 cash and collectible autographed items from San Francisco Giants, just to name a few

Proceeds from the Teriyaki Bazaar will support the local Enmanji Buddhist Temple and community activities. The Teriyaki Chicken plate features half of a chicken, steamed white rice, homemade potato salad, tea and fortune cookie all for $13.

Community dance will take place on the temple grounds. Dance practices will be held Tuesday-Friday July 16-19 from 7-9PM in the community hall. Cultural attire is welcome at the Obon Odori dance.
