Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue at the Green Music Center

Thu, July 11, 2019, 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Rare indeed is the artist with the virtuosity to draw the unqualified respect of some of the most iconic legends in jazz while also capable of mesmerizing international rock stars. From brass band blare and deep-groove funk, to bluesy beauty and hip-hop/pop swagger Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews delivers plenty of emotion all anchored, of course, by stellar playing and the idea that, even in the toughest of times, as Andrews says, “Music brings unity.”

Providing support is the legendary Jon Cleary, a skillful tunesmith equally renowned around the globe as an accomplished keyboardist and guitarist, and a deeply soulful vocalist. Cleary’s thirty-five years of intensive hands-on work on the Crescent City scene has made him a respected peer of such New Orleans R&B icons as Dr. John and Allen Toussaint.
