Petaluma Poetry Walk

Sun, September 17, 2017, 11:00 am - 8:00 pm
Third Sunday in September

We invite you to the 22nd Annual Petaluma Poetry Walk, a poetry festival that changes location every hour as the audience walks between readings in downtown shops and cafes. The Petaluma Poetry Walk was founded by Sonoma County poet laureate emerita Geri Digiorno in 1996. This year for the first time we are focussing on & celebrating Sonoma County poets (and a few ex-Sonoma County poets) and one of its poetry publishers, Sixteen Rivers Press, rather than the greater Bay Area. All of Sonoma County’s living poet laureates will be reading at sometime during the day. We will also be celebrating the life & work of Sonoma County’s second poet laureate, David Bromige (1933-2009,) whose final book of poems, if wants to be the same as is, will be published later this year by Canadian publisher, NewStar Books.
First location: Petaluma Seed Bank – See website for other locations.
