“John, you were my very first customer as a bartender. You kept me entertained on slow winter nights with your views on the world and playing checkers. You once tipped me $20 for singing At Last by Etta James for you…a song I would sing if you were in the bar during karaoke because I know you loved it. You told me my voice was meant to sing that song, which is one of the best compliments I have had for karaoke. You called me mom number 2 (Suzi was mom number 1); because I tried my best to keep you safe and make sure you got home safe. You would get so mad at me when I told on you for your own good; but always ended by saying “that’s why you’re mom number 2″. John would say Suzi is mom number one because she saved his life.
