Fun Field Biology 101 Hike at Trione-Annadel State Park

Fri, April 13, 2018, 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Ever wondered about those plants growing alongside the trails? What is related to each other – you might be surprised! Learn to identify five of the most common plant families as we explore the Cobblestone Trail in Trione-Annadel State Park, and areas along the trail. Join Volunteer Certified CA Naturalist Hike Leader Carolyn Greene at a slow/moderate pace — total distance and specific trails may be dependent on how much we stop and look and identify plants and anything else we might see! Hike returns to same parking area.

Wear hiking shoes, layers appropriate for weather; bring water and a snack. Trekking poles recommended: Some trails are rocky and uneven. RAIN CANCELS.

No advance reservations needed. No fee required at this trailhead parking area. Dogs not allowed.
There are no restrooms and no water at the parking area. Restrooms and water available at the Visitor Center, ¼ mile beyond at STOP sign.

Directions: from Montgomery Drive, turn onto Channel Drive and follow the road in approximately ¼ mile. Park on left side of roadway across from “Cobblestone Trailhead” sign.

Please see the Trione-Annadel State Park website for more details about the park (http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=480, click “Park Events”).
