What the world needs now more than ever is love, hope and community, and what better expression of these than through the joyful, healing, universal language of music! With this intention, the grand kick-off of Soul Café, featuring the dynamic Love Choir of Sebastopol, plus the lively music of the Soul Café House Band is happening May 20th, 5-6:30pm at the Forestville United Methodist Church.
A celebration of diversity, interconnectedness, inclusion and peaceful co-existence, Soul Café, through music and the spoken word will be inspirational and hope-filled. Soul Café is envisioned as a series of gatherings throughout the year. A variety of music will be featured at each Café, and local musicians are donating their time. Soul Café is a non-dogmatic, non-political, Spirit-driven gathering, sponsored by the Forestville United Methodist Church.
Admission is free. Donations of any amount are appreciated. Following the music, delicious food and refreshments will be offered for sale at a very reasonable price. At each Café a local community non-profit organization will serve food, with the majority of the proceeds from the sales going in support of that same non-profit organization. For our May 2oth event, West County Health Centers-Forestville Wellness Center will prepare food and receive the proceeds from Soul Café.
