Sat, June 23, 2018, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Chef Matt Roberts will host a Beef Tasting, featuring a variety of fire grilled steak, braise, and broth shooters.
MaMuse will sing to inspire us and the Freestone Ranch team will guide a musical meander on the land, showing how we care for our ecosystem, the herd, and our approach to carbon farming.
Jon, Misty, Ariel and Erin of Freestone Ranch will share stories about grazing, low stress livestock handling, tree planting, the history of the land, carbon farming, watershed restoration as we tour our beautiful costal ranch in Western Sonoma County.
MaMuse (Sarah Nutting and Karisha Longaker) create uplifting music for the pure joy of it and to inspire the world into thriving. Interweaving brilliant and haunting harmony with lyrics born of honed emotional intelligence, MaMuse invokes a musical presence that inspires the opening of the heart. Sarah and Karisha will sing for us as we tour the ranch and taste some beef.
Matt Roberts cooked in fine-dining restaurants in San Francisco for 10 years acquiring knowledge by working his butt off in kitchens. In 2016 Matt left the restaurant industry to move to Sonoma County and learn how to grow food. Now he teaches cooking classes, hosts gardening workshops, and also cooks privately and at a community-supported kitchen. Matt will serve Freestone Ranch beef, show ideas about preparing grass-fed beef and tend the fire.
Arrive at 1 pm for the beef tasting. We will tour the ranch with music at 2 pm. Bring your cooler if you are inspired to take home a cut or two of meat from our freezers.
