You are cordially invited to join us for an exclusive viewing and discussion of the latest work, ManKind, by renowned sculptor Marco Cochrane (Also known for R-evolution, the tall lady by the Petaluma river).
We are excited to announce that we have reached a pivotal stage in the project’s development – the completion of an 18-foot clay model. This milestone marks a significant step towards his ultimate goal: a 50-foot carbon fiber sculpture, ManKind, which will stand tall, representing and honoring black men.
ManKind will set out on a grand journey across the country, gracing 10 major cities, with its journey commencing at the iconic Burning Man festival and culminating in the nation’s capital at the Museum of African American History and Culture.
The event promises to be an enlightening and exciting experience, aiming to ignite insightful conversations and generate celebratory atmosphere around this subject. It is our hope that this viewing will provide a platform for deeper dialogue and reflection about the narratives, struggles, and triumphs of black men in our society.
