Sun, October 27, 2024, 9:30 am - 1:00 pm

Join Certified California Naturalist John Lynch on a “spooky” 3 mile, 3.5 hour hike from Creekside to Hillside and back through the meadow exploring this very special season.

With Halloween around the corner, we might just discover witches’ butter, flying saucer galls, zombie leaves, plants that have been skeletonized, or even some “ghostly“ sheet web spiders. Have the bats been using their bat house, let’s find out. We’ll also see if we can identify some of the “treats” of the season (seeds, nuts, and berries) and the plants that produce them.

Tickets are $15-$20 sliding scale for general audiences, $7.5 for youth, students, Sugarloaf members, Sugarloaf volunteers, and free for children under 12. Meet at the White Barn parking lot. Bring at least a quart of water, sun protection, wear appropriate clothing and footwear for slippery and rocky trails, and if desired, a snack. Parking fees apply. Heavy rains cancel.
