April 10: Guitarist Daniel Castro. Blues guitarist and songwriter Daniel Castro learned his craft in the South Central L.A. blues clubs alongside “Mighty Mouth” Delmar Evans, before recording and touring with artists including Small Faces singer-bassist Ronnie Lane. In 1995, he formed The Daniel Castro Band, releasing two albums under that name. He now plays regularly with bassist Johnny Yu and drummer David Perper. His warm, soulful playing follows in the footsteps of blues greats Albert King, B.B. King and Albert Collins. Hosted by our Monday night Pro Jam band, the Blues Defenders. Doors open at 5pm.
