As the capstone to a month of community programming and in celebration of this time-honored Mexican tradition, the Center’s Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) will take place November 2. Free to the all, there will be an Altar-Lighting ceremony on the front lawn, a dance performance from Ballet Folklorico Quetzalen on the back patio, food, drinks and art activities will take place in the Rotary Community Kitchen and Room 110. Join us for this very special evening.
Our 12’ public altar, constructed by local sculptor Jim Callahan, has ample room for photos and other items that honor lost loved ones, and every year we invite community members to contribute their mementos to the ofrenda in a shared celebration of those who have passed on. See how to submit a photo below.
There are lots of ways to get involved in our annual Día de Muertos programming, including volunteering, in-kind or financial contributions, and sponsorships.
