Join us in honoring our community bicycle rock stars at the you-can’t-miss-it event of the year! Join us in celebrating our Celebrate our Bike Champion of the Year, Bike Friendly Business, Bike Advocate of the Year, and our Bike Infrastructure Project of the Year.

The Members of the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition invite you to come with your family, friends, business buds … and dine, mingle and support the cause of biking in Sonoma County!

SCBC will present the following awards:
Bike Champion of the the Year. Dr. Loie Sauer
Dr. Sauer saved the life of John Mills, who experienced cardiac arrest while on a ride in early 2023. Loie, a vascular surgeon who provides volunteer medical aid to Velomed and the Santa Rosa Cycling Club, encourages everyone to learn CPR, emphasizing that the aid she has rendered to injured riders is something everyone can acquire the skills to do. Eris Weaver, Executive Director of the Sonoma County Bike Coalition, emphasized the importance of the Bike Champion of the Year program, saying, “We would not have known about this hero in our midst if not for the Bike Champion of the Year nomination.”
Nominations are OPEN for these three awards:
Bike Advocate of the Year: A nonprofit organization, community group or individual that is working inventively to shift the needle to get more people on bikes. Individual can be city or county official (elected or staff), or community member.
Bike Friendly Business of the Year recognizes businesses or organizations large and small that have taken big steps toward making it easy for their employees and the broader community to bike safely. This award is sponsored SCBC business member by Redwood Credit Union.
Bike Project of the Year: A bicycle infrastructure project such as bike lane (buffered, green, or protected), bike bridge, bike boulevard, bike box, bike parking, bike trail, etc. that brings more people on to bikes.
