Habitat Hike: Oak Woodlands at Sugarloaf

Sat, October 12, 2024, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

What is a habitat? Join Sugarloaf docents through the featured habitat, the oak woodlands, to explore all it has to offer. Learn about one of the most abundant types of habitats in California, and why oaks are a keystone species during this 2-mile hike along Meadow and Hillside Trails. This hike is the the last in our four-part ‘Habitats of Sugarloaf’ hike series. Previous hikes explored chaparral, grasslands, and redwood forests.

Meet at the White Barn parking lot. Tickets are $10-$15 for general admission, $5 for youth (12-17 year olds), students, Sugarloaf members, Sugarloaf volunteers, and free for children under 12. Wear layers, appropriate footwear for muddy and/or slippery trails, bring at least a quart of water, sun protection, and if desired, a snack. Heavy rain cancels. Parking fees apply.
