The Women in Music “Connections 7” CD Release Concert features female led music in Northern California. The CD’s for sale were co-produced and compiled by celebrated local musical artists, Alison Harris and Doug Jayne, who collected and compiled songs from 17 women musicians. This project was aired on KRCB radio by Doug Jayne, which has brought to the forefront the discussion about supporting Women Musicians in our local communities. A link to the female artists featured on the CD can be found below.

Kayatta and the Vibe Keepers Kayatta is an American rapper, poet, producer, and educator who grew up in the drug-tattered streets of West Oakland. Over the years, she has developed into an all-around talent skilled on stage and highly effective in the classroom and on the boards. Recently crowned the best Hip Hop artist in Sonoma, Kayatta continues to push the envelope socially, creatively, and dutifully. Effortlessly fusing poetry with drums and bass to create sonic goodness that seethes with audacious musical honey. However, influenced by Mc Lyte, Lauryn, Nas, Audre, and Tupac. Kayatta has created a sound that is hers alone. Currently residing in Berkeley, California, Kayatta has continued to enrich her fanbase and community with stories that speak to the soul and the human experience. Stories are woven with authenticity and vulnerability in a healing and spiritual way. This approach has created a musical experience for all to enjoy and be moved by.
Born and raised in beautiful Sonoma County, Amber Steffen discovered her passion for performing at a young age as a local singer-songwriter. Amber is an artist through and through, and is known for her powerhouse vocals, piano embellishments, and whole-hearted approach to writing. Amber loves helping other artists on their creative journeys as an educator, visionary, and recording artist. Currently Amber is taking the lead as the “bridge-builder” between the women musicians performing in the “Women in Music” concerts at The Lost Church which have also been featured on both KRCB and KSRO radio stations.

Chicago native, Stephanie Salva is a local Sonoma County entertainer with a bluesy, soul-folk voice accompanied by a ukulele or bass and sometimes a gold-plated humdinger kazoo! Stephanie’s own original songwriting style is best described as “Americana Soul”. Her songs are an eclectic cosmic cocktail of musical influences and pure love of all genres of music. Stephanie can currently be found playing solo or with bands such as Tumbleweed Soul, The Front, The Rock Collection, and The Spread Eagles (80’s imitation band).
Tami Gosnell is a multi-faceted performer with a catalog of over 200 songs. Ranging from social commentary to sappy love songs, acoustic soul to down-right hard rock; she does not fit in any box and there is something for everyone to enjoy. She currently plays drums and sings in The Front, an all-female power trio, and The Spread Eagles a fun 80s cover band (both with Stephanie Salva).
