Marc Farre (NY-Seb) & The Desert Fathers at The Lost Church

Back from his sold-out first show here at The Lost Church, MARC FARRE and his 5-piece band THE DESERT FATHERS are returning to their favorite North Bay stage with a double set of Farre’s rich and resonant tunes — including several brand-new songs, plus deep cuts from Farre’s extensive catalog. (A notable addition to the band is drummer Jason Berkman — who also pounds the skins with everyone’s favorite Sonoma good-time band, BURNSIDE!)

Farre’s music is hard to categorize but easy to love — melodic, arty, earthy, open-hearted, eclectic, juicy. Critics have called his albums “hypnotic and intensely soulful,” and compared his sophisticated style and intimate voice to artists such as Nick Cave, Serge Gainsbourg, Lou Reed, John Cale and Leonard Cohen.

Marc sings in both English and French — a legacy of his European background. He’s released 7 albums and EPs, plus several singles, including pop gem “My Sweet George,” mixed by legendary producer Tchad Blake (Tom Waits, Peter Gabriel, Elvis Costello).
