The Camino de Sonoma Pilgrimage program is a guided tour with emphasis on prayerful healing of the conflicts – personal or political, with thoughtful meditations on local history. The Camino extends from St. Francis Mission in Sonoma to the Fort Ross mission on the coast. This 75 mile trail is divided into 6 segments walked on different days during the year. The schedule is provided on CaminodeSonoma.com.
Stephen Morris participates in the program by leading groups celebrating Catholic Feast Days. The Jan. 19, 2024 pilgrimage will celebrate St. Sebastian with mass at 8:00 at St. Sebastian Church in Sebastopol. Stephen Morris schedule and reservations are on Walking the Camino de Sonoma page on Facebook. Founders Adam Peacocke and Tony McCormick guide non denominational tours, which include prayers for healing of conflict – historic, current, worldly or personal.
During the hikes, the guides provide fascinating histories of the areas which include indigenous, Spanish and Russian influences.
