SoloRio is a fresh Americana’n rock stone soup collaboration band based in the North Bay Area, California. The core ‘Solo’ band consists of C. Cameron Anderson, Andy Tester, Andy ‘Dru’ Rodgers, and Jay Young. Young drums and Tester bass conspire in dynamic heartbeat grooves and soundscapes while bringing voices to the four-part harmonies this band is known for. Cameron’s dobro phrasings, banjo patterns, and harp expressions bring tasty atmospheres and unexpected dimensions; while Rodger’s guitars and random stringed things resonate to pad and drive the sonic stories. The band is known to be often joined by renowned local musicians as well as a bounty of brilliant feeder springs and tributaries that flow in with the ‘Rio’ when stars align including Brooks Anderson (percussion), Gary Kaye (pedal steel), Greg Anton (drums), Matt Szemela (fiddle), Scott Moore (fiddle), Tim Starter (bass), Nick Simmons (guitar), Tony Blake (drums) and more.
SoloRio is a dirt poor English translation of two resonating truths – we are all floating down ‘one river’; and while doing so, need to remember to ‘just laugh’.
SoloRio’s ‘Planet Home’ will share their stories and songs of place and heart, and seed much of what will become their much-anticipated album TWO. Your job will be to relax and enjoy the voyage.
