SIDEWALK FRANK
Marcel Julius John De Gross, aka Sidewalk Frank describes his music as musically simplistic and lyrically driven, “Three chords and a story.”
His influences include: folk, blues, country, jazz, pop, funk, gospel and just plain old good time music.
A singer/songwriter hailing from his native Western Connecticut, Sidewalk Frank began performing in rock bands at the age of 12. A self proclaimed “Swamp Yankee” he has always considered himself a folk singer. Louis Armstrong said, “All music is folk music. I never heard a horse sing a song.”
Marcel now makes his home in Sebastopol, California with his wife Geraldine and their two dogs. Accompanying himself on acoustic guitar and harmonica his melodies are ripe with gut wrenching emotion that pours straight out from the heart.
His first two albums have been well received and as disc jockey Dave Hook, of KKUP radio, commented after hearing the song “Have A Nice Day”
“That’s brilliant song writing. I’m in awe of that song.” He is currently performing around Sonoma Country and working in the studio on his third solo album due out in spring 2024.
When Sidewalk Frank performs you’re not only going to hear well crafted song writing, you’re going to feel it deep inside your bones.
If you love true American folk tales and storytelling Sidewalk Frank is not to be missed.

I’m an innovative Alternative Indie Pop musician in Sonoma County. Being exposed to a vast array of music as a child sparked a love for music and performing at a very young age. I bought my first bass two and a half years ago and it kicked my creativity into high gear and gave me a pathway into the Sonoma County music scene.
I represent a genre of music that empowers people towards authenticity and embodies individuality. I am a catalyst for bringing the soul back into art and music.
