Are you in need of a little respite from the perils of the political scene and the state of the universe? Pegasus Theater Company has just the ticket, with an evening of theater guaranteed to tickle the funny bone and touch the heart.
Sept. 27 though Oct. 20 the Guerneville-based company will present its sixteenth (almost) annual production of Tapas Short Play Festival, featuring seven original short plays that are mostly comic, a little bit satirical and occasionally bittersweet.
This year’s plays consider such issues as: Is marriage and family more important than the heart’s desire, will actors stand still long enough to deliver a message about the planet’s diminishing resources and can two senior citizens find the pleasure they’ve missed in life?
Curtain time is 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. for Sunday matinees. The door will open a half hour earlier. The Masonic Lodge is located at 14040 Church Street. The entrance is around the corner on Third Street, one block north of Main Street.
Tickets are $25 general admission and Pay What You Will on the first two Fridays, September 27 and October 4. Seating is limited so consider making reservations at Eventbrite. Tickets, cash or check only, will also be available at the door.
