Tret Fure has been a performing singer/songwriter for 54 years. At 19, she moved to LA to find a record deal and within a year she was the guitarist and vocalist for Spencer Davis, penning the single for his album “Mousetrap”. In 1973, she recorded her own album “Tret Fure” on MCA, produced by Lowell George of Little Feat. A prolific artist in the contemporary singer-songwriter arena, Tret has released 18 award winning albums. She won the 2023 Phil Ochs award in recognition of her music and activism for social and political justice. Add that to a long list of awards which you can find at www.tretfure.com/biography. Tret just released her 18th album, “Lavender Moonshine”, and will be performing songs from the new CD. “Lavender Moonshine” was the #4 album on the folk DJ charts for the month of October 2023. Her single “Lavender Moonshine” was also the #4 song. She continues to bring her beautiful music to us in all it’s creative complexity. In addition to touring and recording, Tret teaches guitar and songwriting individually and in workshop settings. She paints pet portraits on commission and, an accomplished cook, Fure has also published a cookbook, “Tret’s Kitchen”, featuring her own recipes. Along with bridging the marketing, production, music and art worlds, Tret served for 6 years as President of Local 1000, The Traveling Musicians Association–a union geared toward helping traveling musicians find security and longevity. Tret is truly a Renaissance Woman!

An accomplished and well-respected musician, Nancy Vogl taught herself how to play guitar when she was a teenager and at 20 decided that she wanted to write music more than anything else. In 1973, she moved to Berkeley, California, and with three other women, started the Berkeley Women’s Music Collective. Their dedication and hard work was evident as they made four national tours, and produced two albums, Berkeley Women’s Music Collective, and Trying to Survive. As a guitar player, Nancy Vogl has influenced many other women. She has toured with Woody Simmons, Robin Flower, Barbara Higbie, Libby McLaren and Holly Near. Nancy sees her work as a part of women’s culture, “Music to me is more than entertainment – it is a reflection of the culture which inspires it. Playing with women has let me feel a force of change and growth. I’ve been soothed, healed, and motivated by musicians I know. What I bring to my music is a commitment to building a better growing environment for us all.”
