Wappo Cultural Demonstration at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park

Come to Sugarloaf for an interactive Wappo cultural demonstration on Sunday, November 3, 2024 10:00 am-1:00 pm on acorn grinding, pump drilling, string-weaving from native plants, among other activities led by Desirae Harp, Mishewal-Wappo tribe member. She will share samples of traditional food and drink prepared from native plants.
Tickets are $15 for general audiences, $7.50 for students, youth (12-17 year olds, accompanied by a parent), Sugarloaf members, and Sugarloaf volunteers. Children ages 12-7 can register for free. This event is not recommended for children under 7.
What to know: Meet at the group camp. Dress appropriately for the weather, as we will be outside. Bring water, and if desired, a snack. Space is limited to 20. Sugarloaf Ridge State Park parking fees apply.
