QUILT: stitching our story

Telling the Story invites you to a unique multi-media presentation on the history and evolution of quilting from its colonial origins to its current form as a medium for social engagement and empowerment.

Join best-selling author and quilting master Joe Cunningham at a lively presentation on the history and evolution of quilt-making from craft to fine art to a medium of social expression, protest and engagement.

Arrive early to see two acclaimed documentaries:

THE LAST ONE – a chronicle of the AIDS quilt – 3PM

THE QUILTERS OF GEES BEND – an EMMY-winning film following the extraordinary lives, inspirations, and history of these artists – 5PM

This special CPAC event is part of a city-wide celebration of quilters and quilt making during the second week of November. Quilts will be displayed at the Cloverdale Arts Alliance, History Center and Museum and the Library.

The event will be followed by wine, cheese and conversation in the lobby.
