Join Certified California Naturalist John Lynch on a “spooky” 3 mile, 2.5 hour hike from Creekside to Hillside and back through the meadow exploring this very special season. With Halloween around the corner, we might just discover flying saucer galls, zombie leaves, plants that have been skeletonized, or even some “ghostly“ sheet web spiders. Have the bats been using their bat house, let’s find out. We’ll also see if we can identify some of the “treats” of the season (seeds, nuts, and berries) and the plants that produce them.
Tickets are $15 for for the general public and half price for students, youth (12-17 year-olds), Sugarloaf members, or Sugarloaf volunteers. Children under 12 can attend for free. Parking fees apply.
Meet at the White Barn parking lot. Bring plenty of water, sun protection, wear appropriate clothing and footwear for slippery and rocky trails, and if desired, a snack. Parking fees apply. Heavy rains cancel.
Ease of access: this hike is not accessible by stroller or wheelchair.
