Birding the Redwood Forest by Ear

Sat, June 4, 2022, 8:00 am - 10:00 am

Join Teresa and Miles Tuffli (I’m Birding Right Now) for a 2-hour meander through the redwood forest floor, where we’ll listen closely and soak up Spring’s morning birdsong. Whether you’re eager to learn how to identify the birds vocalizing or you’re simply interested in taking in nature’s wonderful soundscape, this walk is for you! Miles and Teresa will help point out, identify, and discuss the songs and calls of the birds who make Armstrong Redwoods their home.
We’ll meet at the Armstrong Redwoods Visitor Center and walk slowly and quietly around the forest floor trails, stopping frequently to listen closely. Of course, when any birds make themselves visible we’ll look at them, too!
Bring binoculars, layers (as spring mornings in Armstrong Redwoods are often quite cool), and your open ears. Cost of this event INCLUDES the parking fee at Armstrong Redwoods (normally a $10 fee). Yes, you can park all day while you wander, and listen for birds! $25 for non-members, $20 for members. Become a Stewards Member/Donor at www.stewardscr.org or call 707-869-9177.
