Bob Hart Nature Photography at Sebastopol Library

The photographs in this show are primarily from Iceland and the southern coast of Oregon, with a sprinkling of images from other places.

The Iceland images are from my four trips to Iceland, the first trip was in 2013 and my last was in September of this year. The image above is a lake in the southern highlands taken on this last trip. I have photographed Iceland as a participant in photography workshops as well as on trips with friends. The images in this show represent some of my favorites.

The Oregon images are from the Samuel Boardman Scenic Corridor, on the southern coast of Oregon just north of the California-Oregon border. This area has a wealth of compositions that would excite almost any landscape photographer. The only problem in this area is many of the best scenes are very difficult to reach. For example, the Natural Bridges area is especially beautiful and can be reached by two paths. Both paths are posted with signs that report people have died beyond these signs. It is an area that deserves serious respect for the challenges involved and reverence for its beauty.

I have included a few images of the Badlands of South Dakota. I went on this excursion not expecting to find much as most of the images I had seen of the Badlands were uninspiring. I was delighted with what I found and came away with a healthy respect for the beauty of those lands.

I have also included some fox, coyote, and raptor images for diversity and because these are among my favorite subjects to photograph.

I hope you enjoy the show.
