Viewing the night sky at Robert Ferguson Observatory
Tue, April 6, 2021, 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Bring Your Own Binoculars and Chair! This is a guided tour into the wonders of the night sky that are visible through common binoculars. Guests will station their chairs at socially distanced locations in the parking lot outside the observatory and knowledgeable docents with laser pointers will guide guests to the hidden secrets of the night sky. Expect to see double stars, open star clusters, globular clusters, maybe even a planet or two!

There are two date options for this event – April 6 and April 13.

Cost is $25 per adult ($20 for seniors or under 18) and includes the State Park parking fee.

Please note that the tour begins promptly at 7:30 PM. Allow generous time to arrive, park and gear up!

This is an outdoor event only. The observatory building and its telescopes will NOT be open.

We will be following strict COVID-19 precautions. Guests are required to wear masks and observe proper social distancing from other family groups. Individuals exhibiting symptoms such as coughing, sneezing and fever, have tested positive or have been exposed to others who have tested positive, should not attend. All events, while scheduled, are subject to change in accordance with COVID-19 County and State guidelines.

RFO is operated by the Valley of the Moon Observatory Association, a 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization, and all of the proceeds will go towards maintaining this beloved Sonoma county institution.
