SAKOYANA

Sakoyana is a jazz-funk band from Sonoma County, California. Influenced by sounds and creations of all kinds. Primarily the music is rooted in jazz, blues, and funk, but is also influenced by western classical music, hip hop, Indian classical music, space, plants, meditation and much more.  The music strives to balance tight compositional structures with improvisation and joyful noise.

 

NO VICE
 

NoVice is a music collective currently consisting of Ismael Armando Ramos, Josiah Aaron Pel, Kayle Chavez, & Chris Sonntag.  Based in the Bay Area in California and combining genres such as post emo, folk and alternative rock, NoVice has found healing and freedom through creating music. They aim to help others heal through their music with honesty and vulnerability. They are influenced by artists such as Brooks Nielsen, Aries, The Strokes, Hot Mulligan, and Julian Casablancas.

LOLA GUTHRIE

 

Lola Guthrie is a 20-year-old folk singer from Sebastopol and a student at UC Santa Cruz. She uses stirring lyrics and passionate vocals to express her thoughts on the modern world, human longing, mortality, and the future and past. Lola is excited to play at the Hopmonk on International Women’s Day
