Drawing upon a diverse collection of influences and experience, Chip Boaz channels joy into an improvisational conversation with his trio that runs an emotional gamut from fiery to reflective. While jazz standards play a part in the trio’s set, the majority of the music comes from Boaz, a prolific composer. Proficient on both acoustic upright bass and six string bass guitar, Boaz brings explores a variety of ideas in the trio context, with traditional swing, Brazilian and Afro-Cuban styles, as well as a funky groove. Every performance with The Chip Boaz Trio is a jubilant celebration of jazz and personality, full of exciting and joyful moments.
