Comedy Show At Coyote Sonoma

Fri, September 15, 2023, 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Sit back, relax, and get ready to laugh the night away with headliner Andrew Holmgren and featured comedians Clara Biji and Steven Asifo.

Headliner Andrew Holmgren:

Andrew Holmgren embodies a rare combination of humility and good looks rarely seen before on this planet. This San Francisco-based stoner-savant performs with a certain reverence for irreverence and his succinct, clever humor has made people call him a smart-ass more times than he cares to remember. Holmgren has appeared on “VICELAND,” is a regular at the SF Punch Line, and was named “Best Comedian” by SF Weekly. He produces several popular showcases, performs all over the country, and has appeared at SF Sketchfest, Savage Henry Comedy Festival, and The Sacramento Comedy Fest, where he was named best visiting comedian. Holmgren comes to party, I’d buy him a beer if I were you.

Comedian Steven Asifo:

Outside of corporate life, Steven is a comedic entertainer. Steven has an energy like no one else. His charming, energetic, and cynically good-natured persona brings you into his anxiety-filled mishaps and observations. Originally from Maryland, this East Coast transplant performs all over the Bay Area and produces the off-the-wall show, Dungeon Comedy.

Comedian Clara Bijl:

Clara Bijl is an internationally unknown stand-up comedian and writer. Clara grew up in the French Alps and learned English by listening to rap music before attending college in South Carolina, as one does when coming from France. Upon graduation, she moved to New York City to become a stand-up comedian. She thought her English was serviceable until someone asked her if she was deaf. That’s when she decided to study with a speech therapist. Clara has since performed stand-up comedy without an accent around the world. She has two successful runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival under her belt, as well as a comedy album “Internationally Unknown.” She wrote for a Swiss TV show, “Le Petit Silvant Illustré,” (yes they have comedy in Switzerland, so long as its neutral). She’s punched up scripts and even wrote and directed a pilot entitled “The Refugees.” She also has a Youtube show, “My Review of Your Yelp Review.” Clara’s latest screenplay, “For Better or For Worse,” has gotten into 12 festivals thus far. Clara only engages in activities that might inspire funny material: the volunteering, the kids, the marriage, the raising of French cats in America…It’s all for comedy.

Guest Host Cody Smit:

Before doing stand-up comedy, Santa Rosa native Cody Smit started out as a rapper under the stage name, C-Smitty. After realizing he was tone-deaf and possessed no rhythm, he gave up on his dreams of becoming a white rapper and took to stand-up comedy. His first gig was at a slam poetry open mic and consisted of him jotting down jokes about an ex-girlfriend on a bar napkin. His would-be set quickly escalated into a dreary tirade about her infidelity. Before he knew it, Smit was producing and hosting comedy shows throughout Sonoma County. At 22 years old, Smit learned the art of what it truly means to “bomb” on stage in the preliminary rounds of the San Francisco Comedy Competition. From then on, he vowed never to do the same.
