A fascinating, funny riff on the traditional morality play Everyman, “Everybody” charts one person’s quest to understand the meaning of life. Along the way, they encounter Friendship, Kinship, Stuff, Mind, Five Senses, Understanding and Love, before finally facing one last character, Death.
“Everybody” includes an on-stage lottery to determine which actor plays which role. Symbolizing the randomness of death, this last-minute twist requires the actors to memorize every role.
“Everybody” was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2018.
