Deeply rooted traditions are threatened when the devout milkman, Tevye, tries to arrange marriages for his daughters, Tzeitel, Hodel and Chava, who have modern ideas about romance. How can he balance adherence to the traditions of his faith with his love for his daughters? Honor the past while accepting progress?
