Discover how great you will feel when you start the new year off on the right foot on the 2021 First Day Hike. Our 8th Annual Hike to the Summit of the Park can be either a personal challenge to see if you can still make to the top or the start of the new year to get back into shape, designed for all fitness levels with guides to help you return to the parking lot at any time. The whole hike is 8 miles and moderately strenuous. Smile and be ready to have your picture taken at the top of the mountain while enjoying the views.
By participating in our First Day Hikes you will also participate in the national “First Day Hikes” movement sponsored by America’s State Parks, offering an opportunity to kick off your new year with a healthy start. The January 1, 2021 hike for health at Jack London State Historic Park is part of a collaborative national fitness event with California State Parks.
Rain will cancel.
Covid-19 safety protocols will be adhered to. The hike will be limited to 20 people, split into two groups of no more than 10 people each and start times will be staggered. 6 foot distancing between hikers (unless from the same household group)
Masks must be carried and worn at any time you cannot stay 6 ft away from other hikers. Please bring your own mask.
