Originally a native of the east coast, Frank “Deville” Greenfield was exposed to Blues, R&B, Motown and Funk at an early age. Moving into classical and jazz, he attended Westminster Conservatory of music where he studied under Robert Trent and Josef Federico. It was a time of serious wood shedding as he would practice eight hours a day adding classical chops and jazz techniques to his rapidly expanding musical vocabulary.
Frank soon formed a three piece rock/funk band “Kingdom of Souls” which became signed to Talkingtown records, while continuing to do session work for Soundaddy.com music library, soundtracks for local TV and for Roughhouse/Columbia. Upon moving to Los Angeles, Frank, along with producer Lamar Van Sciver began writing for the production team of Walter Millsap of Conjunction entertainment and The Mosely Group. “Fantasy”, a track written for and executive produced by Timbaland featuring Money was released on Timbaland’s multi-platinum album “Shock Value”. They also composed/wrote the two singles, “Listen” and “I Need You” for the Grammy nominated (best R&B gospel category) album T5:7 featuring artist Trin-i-tee 5:7. The song “Listen” would later be nominated “Song of the year” (Best urban recorded song) by the GMA/Dove awards.
