Free community event on July 15th in Windsor, focused on fire preparedness, trauma and recovery!
Carrie Lara is celebrating the launch of her new children’s book “Out of the Fires: A Journal of Resilience and Recovery After Disaster” that hit the stores this week and will be there at the event to do a short excerpt reading and signings. Books will be provided by Copperfield’s Book store who will be onsite for people to purchase if they would like to.
In addition, many other community organizations at the event will have free resources, prizes and giveaways. Stop by Nuestra Comunidad’s booth to learn some more about evacuation preparedness and take a chance to spin the prize wheel for a go-bag! Read to a dog program will also be there with PAL, with their wonderful service dogs to promote reading and their cuteness! The COPE organization will be there too with their information and giveaways too! Sonoma County Fire District will have a fire truck in front of the building and firefighters will be at the event as well!
