Go on Your Own Creek Week Clean-Up!

Thu, September 24, 2020, 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

We might not be able to gather in-person to do our annual Creek Week clean-up, but why should that stop us from doing it individually? In this webinar for kids, Daily Acts invites you go on your own Creek-Week Scavenger Hunt Clean-up, and share pictures of what you found and where you found it. Then, on September 24th, gather with us online for a show-and-tell of our collective findings, and learn about ways we can improve our watershed health!

During this webinar we will learn about our local watershed, defining features of a healthy creek, and ways your family can prevent trash from entering our watershed. There will even be an interactive guessing game activity for kids to learn about how to sort common trash, recycling, and compost items properly! A map will be shown displaying where individual trash clean-ups took place. Show-and-tell will include photos submitted before the webinar. We will wrap up with a reflection of patterns we noticed in our trash clean-ups, and ways we can all reduce storm water pollution in our day-to-day lives.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
1. Register for the event to receive your scavenger hunt list and instructions
2. Complete your neighborhood or creek clean-up and take photos of the most interesting things you found
3. Submit your scavenger hunt, observations, and photos by 5:00 pm on September 23rd
4. Attend the webinar on Sept. 24th from 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm to learn about what we collectively found.
