Join us on August 29th as we wrap up the 2023 Tuesdays in the Plaza concert series with special guest artist, Rocio “La Dama de la Cumbia” y Su Sonora! Rocio brings her bi-lingual, high-energy talent to close out this year’s concert series, so mark your calendars for a great evening of singing, dancing, and community!
About the artist: Rocío was born in the Country of La Eterna Primavera, Guatemala. In 1994, she was called to be part of the well-known Sonora Dinamita de Lucho Argaín where she had the opportunity to travel throughout the United States and Mexico. In 1999 she signed her first record contract and recorded her first album Ritmo y Sentimiento with Angelycal Musical and in 2001 she recorded her second Se Busca Bailadora, both under the Sony Discos label. In 2002, Rocío decided to create her own sonora and was born: Rocío y su Sonora. Since then, she has created numerous albums, with her latest called Necklace of Penalties, released in 2023.
The music begins at 6:00 PM. During the intermission, Ballet Folklorico will grace us with a special dance presentation. Corazon Healdsburg will be distributing 400 reusable bags, so make sure you arrive early to claim yours! They will also offer interpretation services for the evening’s announcements.
