They’re a homegrown Sonoma County band, known for smart songwriting and stellar vocals, set off with hot fiddle and dueling guitars that makes you want to get up and boogie.
Singers Emily Lois, Dave Monterey and Timothy Sheehan beautifully showcase covers from greats like Waylon Jennings, Miranda Lambert, Greg Allman, The Band, while blending in memorable originals that make Heartwood Crossing a distinctive Norcal sound. Backed by the extraordinary talents of violinist Jon Berger, and rhythm section of Daniel Magee on bass and Dan Ransford on drums — this band delivers.
HWC’s story begins with guitarists Dave and Tim whose sympatico rhythmic playing evolved over 45 years of making music together. It’s a natural reflex now – ‘brothers from another mother.’ In 2019, the two met sister songwriter Emily while offering up talents independently for a local NPR radio station fund drive. Inspiration clicked immediately, the song styles gelled beautifully, and today they bring it all to stage without parallel.
Heartwood Crossing is very excited about the release of a new CD “American Eyes” due out this June, just in time for their summer series of performances at Twin Oaks Roadhouse.
Says Doug Jayne, Radio DJ, KRCB and owner of The Next Record Store
of Heartwood Crossing, “These folks are playing inspired music!”
