Event Date: Sunday, July 6, 2019
Time: 9:00 AM Hike Departure to about 1 PM
Location: WP Richardson parking lot (end of Channel Drive)
Trails: WP Richardson to Lake Ilsanjo and back
It’s butterfly and dragonfly season and they are plentiful this year. Is it because of the wet winter providing more food sources? Discover where and what is flying around, and learn more about the lake habitats and connections to nature around water. Follow Volunteer Interpretive Naturalist John Lynch from the WP Richardson trailhead up and around Lake Ilsanjo. The route will include approximately 250 foot elevation gain over about 6 miles of varied trails in a leisurely exploration and a stop for lunch: bring your own.
Wear hiking shoes, layers appropriate for weather, bring water and lunch. Trekking poles recommended. Some trails are rocky and uneven. There are restrooms and water in the parking area. There is a restroom near the lake. Dogs are not allowed.
Directions: from Montgomery Drive, turn onto Channel Drive and follow the road in approximately ¾ mile to the STOP sign. Pay fee or display State Park Pass. Drive 1 mile to the large parking lot. Please park snug with other vehicles to accommodate the most cars.
Please see the Trione-Annadel State Park website for more details about the park and Volunteer Hike Leader John Lynch (http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=480, click “Park Events”).
