Holidays on the Northern Frontier

Sat, December 14, 2019, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm

A tradition since 1986, the downtown buildings of Sonoma State Historic Park will be open, festively lit, and free to visitors, from 4:00pm – 8:00pm. Gather family and friends to wander this historic state park on a rare evening occasion filled with entertainment.

Enjoy the sounds of local live music with Pickle Creek String Band in the Toscano Hotel and discover Sonoma’s Italian roots with a docent tour in the Toscano Kitchen.

Refreshments of cookies, cocoa and coffee will beckon passers-by into the 1860’s era of the Sonoma Barracks. Nestled among Victorian Era craft activities, Kris Kringle awaits visitors in the warm, cozy theatre room. Visit with the living history soldier camp of the 20th Maine Volunteer Infantry Co. G and participate in a sing along by campfire with the Petaluma Children’s Choir in the Sonoma Barracks Courtyard.

Just down the street, a celebration of Yuletide transforms the rarely open Blue Wing Inn into an 1850’s living history saloon with hot apple cider and barroom snacks. Make clove oranges or work leathercraft in the east room of this original adobe building.
