Family Fourth is the theme of a renewed Kenwood Hometown Fourth of July celebration this year, with all the usual events and excitement. Kids, bicycles, old cars, fire engines, a military salute to our flag as we sing the National Anthem and honor the founding of the United States of America.
The Kenwood Community Church and friends will host a BIG pancake breakfast in the beautiful church garden. Across the street in Kenwood Plaza Park, silent auction items are displayed on tables with sign up bidding sheets
The 49th Kenwood Footrace
Runners will start running both 10k and 3k routes through the countryside’s vineyards and scenic byways, starting at 7:30 a.m. The event is hosted by the Empire Runners Club and has become a widely known and well-attended foot race over the years.
The parade will kick off at 10:30 a.m. with the National Anthem and a lot of enthusiastic kids, dogs, banners, bicycles, antique cars, fire trucks, floats and more. The duration will depend on the number of entries, of course, but as soon as the parade winds up, the Glen Ellen-Kenwood Rotary Shindig starts up in Plaza Park proper.
Glen Ellen Kenwood Rotary puts on a fine party to wrap up the day early enough for people to move onto fireworks in the evening. Come join us in the park from 10:30am to 3:30pm after the parade for a small shindig. Taste some Clos De Bois Wines; Imbibe on some Lagunitas IPA. Kids games, bubbles, a popcorn machine! Dessert trailer from Trader John (shush and whips etc) visit other local non profit tables too!
